Synopsis
For his first feature film, Vladimír Michálek chose an unconventional adaptation of Kafka's novel. In an artistic way, the director reinterpreted the dark story of a man who searches in vain for a place in a society with a rigid regime, transforming the desperate conclusion into a happy ending. The film offered Czech actor Jiří Lábus a new kind of role: that of the despotic uncle. The song from the film, recorded by the famous Czech band Lucie, helped increase his popularity.
