L'OREILLE

Ludvík and Anna are a couple well-integrated into the communist state party, in power since the 1948 coup. They are, in fact, quite accustomed to having their conversations and private lives monitored by microphones placed in their home, which they call the Ear, "Ucho." Yet, one evening upon returning home, they are seized by a fit of paranoia: they are convinced that Ludvík is about to be arrested. What follows is a long night of anguish, despair, and biting humor, during which the cracks in a loveless marriage, crushed by surveillance, are laid bare.
